There are times when we want to pitch
our product and/or service to a company that needs just what we're
selling. However, we can't get a hold of the person that has the
authority to buy what
we are selling. Here are a few quick tips to find owners, C-level
execs, and others that have buying power:
1) You could just pay for the info. There are a lot of services such as Hoovers.com out there. It might cost you a pretty penny, but it makes life much easier.
2) If the company has a website, search there. About us, contact us, staff and sitemap are all good starting points. Did you find the name of the person you were looking for, but no phone or email? Try to find other emails within the company and then you can apply the same rule set. Example - You find this email: Bjenkins@xcompany.com for Brian Jenkins. For the CEO, Danny Rex, try Drex@xcompany.com.
3) Search Google. You can find articles, press releases and a lot of good information that may lead to an email or phone number.
4) Search the BBB website.
5) Try running whois information on the company website.
6) Call the company, play nice, and get the information from other employees.
